Bio
After
finishing my Bachelor's degree, I got an internship in a large Northern
European translation agency where I ended up working for almost 10 years as a
project manager/senior project manager. The experience I gained working there has
given me a very good understanding of what makes a great translator and that language
and subject knowledge is only half of the battle – following deadlines, understanding
instructions and timely communication with the project management team is just
as important. During my time as PM I worked with almost every CAT tool and file format immaginable, so I have no issues adopting to new translation tools and environments.
Main areas
of translation and editing expertise in one way or another are related to my
interests, background or activities, and these are – technical texts (from
small electronic gadgets to heavy-duty machinery), IT related texts and company
management documentation (codes of conduct, policies, guidelines etc.).
