VERTIS-CV trial enrolled type 2 diabetes patients with a history of CV, including those with a history of coronary artery disease (75.4%), cerebrovascular disease (22.9%), peripheral arterial disease (18.7%), and heart failure (23.7%).
The primary endpoint of the trial was non-inferiority of STEGLATRO on MACE (major adverse cardiac events), composed of CV death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, or nonfatal stroke, compared to placebo.
The secondary endpoint was superiority of STEGLATRO versus placebo on hospitalization for heart failure (HHF), CV death, the composite of renal death, dialysis/transplant or doubling of serum creatinine.
