Born in Sana'a, Yemen to a bi-lingual family, I grew up speaking Arabic, English and Somali natively. I completed my high-school studies in Nairobi, Kenya, then I later joined the Alliance Francaise of Nairobi to study French Language and Literature. Along with my studies, I later worked at the Alliance Francaise as a part-time administrative assistant where I interact with native French speakers daily. The opportunity helped sharpen my french language competences and cultural intelligence. 

Few years later, I got the chance to work at the UNHCR as an On-call contractor where I translate / interpret from and to: English, French, and Arabic. I work closely with refugees and asylum seekers and help fill their documents in the respective languages.
