Source text - Arabic لو نجح المفاوضون الفلسطينيون والإسرائيليون في الوصول إلى إتفاق سلام خلال العقدين المنصرمين، للاقوا تأييداً من الراي العام لهذا الإتفاق. ولربما يعتبر ذلك صحيحاً اليوم ولكن في حقيقة الأمر أصبح الحصول على تأييد من الرأي العام اليوم أمراً صعباً وذلك لأن قاعدة التأييد اليوم أصبحت أضعف مما كانت عليه آنذاك. ولإرضاء المعارضين في كلا الطرفين يحتاج القادة السياسيين لجهد أكثر. فهم يحتاجون إلى تعديلات أو إضافات لاتفاق السلام مع ضرورة وجود ضمانات خارجية. فبالرغم من الظروف الراهنة إلا ان الرأي العام في كلا الطرفين يمكنه أن يدعم إتفاق السلام الدائم فهو لا يشكل عقبة أمام هذا السلام.
Translation - English Had Palestinian and Israeli negotiators reached a peace agreement any time during the past two decades, public opinion on both sides would have supported it. The same is probably true today, but reaching that support will be more difficult, as the starting point – the initial base of support – is weaker. Today, political leaders would need to work harder to win over a sufficient portion of the opposition on both sides. They will need adjustments or additions to the agreement, and external guarantees will be important as well. Under the right circumstances, a majority on both sides can support a permanent peace agreement. The public, therefore, is not a direct obstacle to peace.

• Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease, which are among the leading causes of death in the United States.1,3
• Even people who smoke fewer than five cigarettes a day can have early signs of cardiovascular disease.1
• Smoking damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your heart beat faster and your blood pressure go up. Clots can also form.1,2
• A stroke occurs when:
o A clot blocks the blood flow to part of your brain;
o A blood vessel in or around your brain bursts.1,2
• Blockages caused by smoking can also reduce blood flow to your legs and skin.1,2
Translation - Arabic يشكل المدخنين اكبر خطر للاصابة بالامراض التى تؤثر على القلب و الاوعية الدموية (امراض القلب والاوعيةالدموية).
• يسبب التدخين السكتة الدماغية و مرض تصلب الشرايين التاجية التى تعد من الاسباب الرئيسية للموت في الولايات المتحدة.1,3
• حتى الذين يدخنون اقل من خمس سجائر في اليوم قد تظهر عليهم علامات امراض القلب و الاوعية الدموية.
• التدخين يتلف الاوعية الدموية ويؤدي الى ثخنها وتضيقها. بالتالي تزداد سرعة نبضات القلب و يرتفع ضغط الدم بالاضافة الى امكانية تشكل الجلطات.1,2
• تحدث الجلطة الدماغية:
o تحجب الجلطة تدفق الدم للدماغ;
o وينفجر الوعاء الدموي الموجود في او دماغ.,2
• يحدث التدخين انسداد و تقليل الدم الواصل للارجل و الجلد.1,2
