Since modernization, Korea has seen a variety of international cuisines arrive in the country. Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and of course American fast foods are now easy to grab in our daily lives. What’s more important is that Korea now has more competitive culinary skills and food manufacturing technology than those of the homeland countries. People no longer need to go abroad for international dishes that are easy to taste domestically. Moreover, they can be even more delicious than native dishes.

Based on developed manufacturing technology, Korean dishes are now spreading over the world. Not only Kimchi, Ddeok and rice wine are riding the K-food Wave, but also western dishes made by Korean companies are being acclaimed around the world. It seems like selling sand in the desert, and ice in Alaska.

“Isn’t that Shin-Ra-Myun?” This is what you can commonly hear from Korean tourists overseas. This shows how widely Shin-Ra-Myun has entered many other countries’ markets and delivered the taste of Korea. It is even being sold at the observatory shop in Jungfraujoch, the roof of Europe. So far, the accumulated sales figure of Shin-Ra-Myun is more than 20 billion bags. That’s a figure hard to quantify as quickly, but it is said that the number of sales is equivalent to the 96 times of going round the Earth, or the 200 thousand times of going up and down Mt. Everest.

We also hope to highlight some of the challenges that continuing advances in science and technology are likely to create for managers. There is the immediate challenge of recognizing which of these advances is likely to be important for a particular firm.

More fundamentally, however, our results suggest that it will be increasingly impossible to manage “technology” or “science” as a thing apart from the human, social, and financial systems that make up a firm: that decisions about technology will have to be deeply integrated into the heart of the firm.

This implies that the manager of the future will need to be much more technologically sophisticated than his predecessor: that technology will no longer be something that can be safely left to the technologists. Our results also raise broader questions about issues of social justice and about the goals to which we harness technology.

Bio
Hello! My name is Hyun Sun Ahn. I am a Korean-native translator based in South Korea. I graduated from Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in 2019, with a B.A. in English(Interpretation&Translation) and also a 4.41/4.50 GPA.

I am a part of a group of Marriott International translators, currently working as a translator for regular Marriott International projects. And I recently passed the sampling test(August, 2020) for another Marriott project that is Marriott Digital Service.

I also volunteer for TED as an English-Korean translator. You can check out my translations or reviews for TED here: https://www.ted.com/profiles/9084838/translator

I have a strong work ethic. I meet a deadline and strictly follow a style guide or guidance provided by my client or agency. I am also very responsive to emails or inquiries that are work-related. Most of all, I do lots of research into any subjects or words that give me doubts in order to improve my knowledge about what I translate. That way, I can provide as best a quality translation as possible. On top of that, I try to pinpoint expressions that can best represent the meaning of the source text in Korean. I believe that such skill is what makes our human translators different from machine translation.

Please find my CV attached in this Proz profile and feel free to ask me any questions or offer me a sample test at your earliest convenience. I am looking forward to working with you soon!
