With eight years of experience as a professional translator, I am confident in my ability not only to translate fluently back and forth between Swedish and English, but also in my ability to organize myself and handle the numerous ancillary tasks that come with being a professional translator, including managing multiple, simultaneous deadlines, resolving issues and technical troubleshooting, cooperating with project staff and other linguists, maintaining translation memories and termbases, and so on. I have extensive experience with most major digital translation tools and platforms, such as SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ and Memsource, as well as large number of minor or company-specific applications, and I am able to quickly grasp and adapt to any new software that the situation may require me to use.
As a freelance translator working from a home office, I set my own hours, which naturally means that I try to get in as much done as possible in any given day. My schedule is extremely flexible, and I gladly take on work that would require me to work outside of normal office hours in my time zone, and working nights, perhaps to complete an urgent overnight project, is no trouble at all. I am resilient to stress, and I am perfectly capable of working on several demanding projects at once while managing my time and effort so as to complete them in a timely manner. Over the years, I have worked with many different clients and texts, from private individuals with medical records and legal papers, to international corporations with sensitive business documents or marketing materials for their latest releases. I have translated technical documents and marketing materials for major electronics brands like Samsung, LG and Synology, product descriptions for online retailers like Wiggle, compliance policies and codes for multinational organizations like Swedbank, and project plans for construction companies like Züblin Scandinavia. |
