5 Steps to Effectively Prepare for a Highly Productive Day

Creating highly productive days doesn’t just happen by accident. There are certain, relatively simple, steps that you could (and should) take on a daily basis so that you can set yourself up for a highly productive day.
Most people, unfortunately, fail to do this and that’s exactly why so many people struggle with being productive on a consistent, daily basis. They fail to prepare effectively and therefore they fail to produce productive days — which in turn leads to failure to achieve their goals.

Preparing for a highly productive day doesn’t have to take much time either. I’ve personally experienced that anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes is enough to save yourself a ton of time, energy and frustration the very next day.
And because this preparation is both so important and so simple, I decided to share the 5-step preparation process that has helped me get a lot more focused and productive over the last few months.
Step 1: Reflect On The Previous Day
One of the easiest but most overlooked ways to become more productive is to regularly reflect on your actions, progress and behaviour. In fact, most people never really question or analyze their own actions, and they continue to work in the same way as they’ve always done before.
But, if you want to get different results then you’ve gotten before, you have to adopt different ways of acting and thinking.
So, if you want to make tomorrow a highly productive day, spend anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes reflecting about your actions and results of today. Ask yourself a few critical questions, such as:
• What activities/products/people/actions have contributed to the biggest majority of my results today?
• What efforts/activities/products/people have consumed my time and energy but didn’t lead to a lot of results (if any at all)?
• What could I have done better in order to be more productive and focussed?
• What habits have been essential to my happiness, productivity, focus and energy?
• What were the blind spots and unforeseen events that happened, that I should learn from?
By reflecting on your day, you learn to identify both the actions, behaviours and strategies that you want and don’t want to continue with tomorrow. This is something that people hardly ever do, but it helps enormously in identifying blind spots and priorities — and therefore make you much more productive over time.
It’s because of a few minutes of daily thinking and reflection that I’ve been able to identify my most valuable tasks and projects with more clarity, which enabled me to grow my business and income faster than ever before — when I was still working with my head stuck in the sand, never thinking or reflecting about my actions.
Step 2: Set 1–3 Daily Goals
The second step to effectively prepare for a highly productive day is to set anywhere from one to three goals for the day. Either do this the night before your workday or early in the morning before you start working. To help you set your goals, ask yourself these two questions:
What thing(s), if achieved, would lead me to consider that this day would be a total success?
What thing(s), if achieved, lead to significant progress towards my bigger goals (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly goals)?
You absolutely need to have daily goals (you can also call them intentions or targets, it doesn’t really matter) as they are essential to help you consistently make significant progress towards the achievement of your bigger goals.
Often, people know what they want to achieve somewhere far into the future, but fail to make meaningful progress because they don’t create clarity on what they exactly should be doing today. Therefore, they hardly make any significant steps towards their bigger goals.
Because of this lack of clarity, they then end up wasting more time during the day or they work on lesser important tasks and projects instead (something called ‘productive procrastination’). They still feel productive, but in reality, they aren’t. Their lack of preparation and planning leads to low productivity and slow progress.
Therefore, set 1–3 goals for your day so you remove any friction and gain the clarity on what it is that you actually want to achieve today. This way, you prepare for a highly productive day in which you make meaningful progress towards your bigger goals.
Personally, I recommend you set one goal as your top priority (more about that later) for the day so that you make sure you actually achieve this goal instead of procrastinating on it. Way too often, people only tackle their lesser important daily goals and then procrastinate on the most important goal, because it’s the most challenging or intimidating. Therefore, they still aren’t highly productive despite feeling very productive.
In fact, reaching peak productivity is all about tackling those tasks or projects that are your highest priority — as they move the needle the most towards the achievement of your bigger goals.

Y dado que esta preparación es tan importante como simple, decidí compartir los 5 pasos de preparación del proceso que me ha ayudado a estar mucho más focalizado y productivo a través de los últimos meses.
Paso 1: Reflexionar Acerca del Día Anterior
Una de la maneras más sencillas e ignoradas de ser más productivo es reflexionar periódicamente en tus acciones, progresos y comportamiento. - ¿Qué actividades/productos/personas/acciones han contribuido a la mayoría de los resultados de hoy?

Esto es algo que las personas raramente hacen, pero ayuda enormemente a identificar los puntos ciegos y las prioridades – y por lo tanto haces que sea más productivo en el tiempo.
Es a raíz de varios minutos pensar y reflexionar diarios que he podido identificar mis tareas y proyectos más valiosos con mayor claridad, lo cual me ha permitido el crecimiento de mi negocio y renta con mayor celeridad que antes – cuando aún estaba con mi cabeza clavada en la arena, jamás pensando o reflexionando acerca de mis acciones.
Pas 2: Programar 1-3 Objetivos Diarios
El segundo paso para preparase eficientemente para un día altamente productivo es fijar uno a tres objetivos diarios. O bien realizarlo la noche anterior a tu día de trabajo o temprano en la mañana antes de comenzar a trabajar. Para poder ayudarte a fijar tus objetivos, pregúntate estas dos preguntas:
¿Qué cosa/s, si lo logro, me llevaría a pensar que este día sería un éxito total?
¿Qué cosa/s, se logra, lleva a un progreso significativo hacia mi objetivo mayor (semanal, mensual, trimestral o anual)?
Sobre todo, necesitas tener objetivos diarios (también puedes denominarlas intenciones o blancos, no importa realmente) ya que son fundamentales para ayudarte a realizar un progreso significativo hacia el alcance de tus objetivos mayores.
Muchas veces, las personas saben que quieren alcanzar lejos en el futuro, pero fracasan en realizar progresos significativos porque no crean visibilidad en lo que realmente tendrían que estar haciendo hoy. Por lo tanto, escasamente realizan pasos significativos hacia sus objetivos mayores.
A raíz de esta falta de claridad, ellos terminan mal gastando el tiempo durante el día o trabajan en tareas y proyectos menos importantes (que muchas veces se denomina “aplazamiento productivo”). 1. Jesus Christ, as he is presented to us in the New Testament, and as he stands forth from all its writings, is too single and too great to have been invented so uniformly by all these writers.
The force of Jesus Christ unleashed these writings; the writings did not create the force. Jesus is far bigger and more compelling than any of his witnesses. His reality stands behind these writings as a great, global event stands behind a thousand newscasters. Something stupendous unleashed these diverse witnesses to tell these stunning and varied, yet unified, stories of Jesus Christ.
2. Nobody has ever explained the empty tomb of Jesus in the hostile environment of Jerusalem where the enemies of Jesus would have given anything to produce the corpse, but could not.
The earliest attempts to cover the scandal of resurrection were manifestly contradictory to all human experience—disciples do not steal a body (Matthew 28:13) and then sacrifice their lives to preach a glorious gospel of grace on the basis of the deception. Modern theories that Jesus didn't die but swooned, and then awoke in the tomb and moved the stone and tricked his skeptical disciples into believing he was risen as the Lord of the universe don't persuade.
3. Cynical opponents of Christianity abounded where claims were made that many eyewitnesses were available to consult concerning the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
"After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep" (1 Corinthians 15:6). Such claims would be exposed as immediate falsehood if they could. But we know of no exposure. Eyewitnesses of the risen Lord abounded when the crucial claims were being made.
4. The early church was an indomitable force of faith and love and sacrifice on the basis of the reality of Jesus Christ.
The character of this church, and the nature of the gospel of grace and forgiveness, and the undaunted courage of men and women—even unto death—do not fit the hypothesis of mass hysteria. They simply were not like that. Something utterly real and magnificent had happened in the world and they were close enough to know it, and be assured of it, and be gripped by its power. That something was Jesus Christ, as all of them testified, even as they died singing.
5. The prophesies of the Old Testament find stunning fulfillment in the history of Jesus Christ.
The witness to these fulfillments are too many, too diverse, too subtle and too interwoven into the history of the New Testament church and its many writings to be fabricated by some great conspiracy. Down to the details, Jesus Christ fulfilled dozens of Old Testament prophecies that vindicate his truth.
6. The witnesses to Jesus Christ who wrote the New Testament gospels and letters are not gullible or deceitful or demented.
This is manifest from the writings themselves. The books bear the marks of intelligence and clear-headedness and maturity and a moral vision that is compelling. They win our trust as witnesses, especially when all taken together with one great unifying, but distinctively told, message about Jesus Christ.
7. The worldview that emerges from the writings of the New Testament makes more sense out of more reality than any other worldview.
It not only fits the human heart, but also the cosmos and history and God as he reveals himself in nature and conscience. Some may come to this conclusion after much reflection, others may arrive at this conviction by a pre-reflective, intuitive sense of the deep suitability of Christ and his message to the world that they know.
8. When one sees Christ as he is portrayed truly in the gospel, there shines forth a spiritual light that is a self-authenticating.
This is "the light of the knowledge of the glory of God" (2 Corinthians 4:6), and it is as immediately perceived by the Spirit-awakened heart as light is perceived by the open eye. The eye does not argue that there is light. It sees light.
9. When we see and believe the glory of God in the gospel, the Holy Spirit is given to us so that the love of God might be "poured out in our hearts" (Romans 5:5).
This experience of the love of God known in the heart through the gospel of Him who died for us while we were yet ungodly assures us that the hope awakened by all the evidences we have seen will not disappoint us.

Mining requires a task that is very tricky to perform but easy to verify. Bitcoin mining uses cryptography, with a hash function called double SHA-256. A hash takes a portion of data as input and shrinks it down into a smaller hash value (in these cases 256 bits). With a cryptographic hash, there’s no way to get a hash value you want without trying whole lot of inputs. But once you find an input that gives the value you want, it’s easy for anyone to authenticate the hash. Thus, cryptographic hashing becomes a good way to apply the Bitcoin “proof-of-work”.
In more detail, to mine a block, you first collect the new transactions into a block. Then you hash the block to form a 256-bit block hash value. If the hash starts with sufficient zeros, the block has been successfully mined and is sent into the Bitcoin network and the hash becomes the identifier for the block. Most of the time the hash isn’t successful, so you alter the block to some extent and try again, over and over billions of times.
About each 10 minutes somebody will successfully mine a block, and the procedure starts over. The fig. below shows the structure of a precise block and how it is hashed. The yellow part is the block header, and it is followed bey the transactions that go into the block. The first transaction is the special coinbase transaction that grants the mining reward to the miner. The remaining transactions are normal Bitcoin transactions moving bitcoins.

He ticks off a couple businesses he looks up to—ones that have fundamentally changed the way money flows around the world—putting his ambitions for his six-year-old startup into sharp relief. “PayPal,”, he says. “Square.” Two companies worth a combined $150 billion.
“The promise of MoneyLion is to be the wealth manager, the private bank for the $50,000 household,” Choubey says.
At last count, MoneyLion’s app had 5.7 million users, up from 3 million a year ago, and a million of those are paying customers. Those people, many from places like Texas and Ohio, fork over $20 per month to maintain a MoneyLion checking account, monitor their credit score or get a small low-interest loan. In all, MoneyLion offers seven financial products, including unexpected ones like paycheck advances and soon, brokerage services. Choubey expects revenue of $90 million this year, triple last year’s $30 million. His last round of financing, when he raised $100 million from investors including Princeton, New Jersey-based Edison Partners and McLean, Virginia-based Capital One, valued the company at nearly $700 million. By mid-2020, he predicts, MoneyLion will be breaking even. An FDIC-insured high-yield savings account will be rolled out soon, while credit cards are on the schedule for later in 2020. To retain customers, he says, “we have to be a product factory.”
Like most other entrepreneurs, Choubey thinks his company’s potential is essentially unlimited. But having spent a decade as an itinerant investment banker at Citi, Goldman, Citadel and Barclays, he’s also a guy who knows how far a horizon can realistically stretch. And he is far from the only one to see the opportunity for upstart digital-only banks—so-called neobanks—to transform retail banking and create a new generation of Morgans and Mellons. “I just heard a rumor that Chime is getting another round at a $5 billion valuation,” he says.
Globally, a vast army of neobanks are targeting all sorts of consumer and small-business niches—from Millennial investors to dentists and franchise owners. McKinsey estimates there are 5,000 startups worldwide offering new and traditional financial services, up from 2,000 just three years ago. In the first nine months of 2019, venture capitalists poured $2.9 billion into neobanks, compared with $2.3 billion in all of 2018, reports CB Insights.
Underlying this explosion is new infrastructure that makes starting a neobank cheap and easy, plus a rising generation that prefers to do everything from their phones. While it can take years and millions in legal and other costs to launch a real bank, new plug-and-play applications enable a startup to hook up to products supplied by traditional banks and launch with as little as $500,000 in capital.
“Now you can get your [fintech] company off the ground in a matter of a few months versus a few years,” says Angela Strange, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, who sits on the board of Synapse, a San Francisco-based startup whose technology makes it easier for other startups to offer bank products.
Using such middleman platforms, tiny neobanks can offer big-bank products: savings accounts insured by the FDIC, checking accounts with debit cards, ATM access, credit cards, currency transactions and even paper checks. That frees fintech entrepreneurs to concentrate on cultivating their niche, no matter how small or quirky.
Take “Dave.” Dave (yep, that’s its real name) is a little app that rescues folks from the pain of chronic bank overdraft fees. Created by a 34-year-old serial entrepreneur named Jason Wilk who had no prior experience in financial services, Dave charges its users $1 a month and, if they seem likely to overdraw, instantly deposits up to $75 as an advance. Nice little business, but nothing to give Bank of America jitters.
But then Wilk decided to turn Dave into a neobank. In June, using Synapse, Dave rolled out its own checking account and debit card. Now it can make money on “interchange,” the 1% to 2% fees that retailers get charged whenever a debit card gets swiped. These fees are split between banks and debit-card issuers like Dave. Wilk optimistically predicts Dave will bring in $100 million in revenue this year from its 4.5 million users—up from $19 million in 2018, the year before it transformed itself into a neobank. Dave was recently valued at $1 billion.
Established fintech companies that didn’t start out in banking are getting into the game too. New York-based Betterment, which manages $18 billion in customers’ stock and bond investments using computer algorithms, recently rolled out a high-yield savings account. It pulled in $1 billion in deposits in two weeks. “The success has been unprecedented. In our history we’ve never grown this fast,” marvels Betterment CEO and cofounder Jon Stein. Now he’s launching a no-fee checking account with a debit card, and credit cards and mortgages might be next, he says.
Neobanks are swiftly emerging as a huge threat to traditional banks. McKinsey estimates that by 2025 up to 40% of banks’ collective revenue could be at risk from new digital competition. “I don’t believe there’s going to be a Netflix moment—where Netflix basically leapfrogs Blockbuster—where fintechs basically put the banks out of business,” says Nigel Morris, a managing partner at QED Investors, an Alexandria, Virginia-based VC firm specializing in fintech. “[Traditional banks] are really complicated businesses, with complex regulatory issues and consumers who are relatively inert.” But, he adds, “If [neobanks] can get people to bundle, [they] can get more of a share of a wallet of a consumer. [The] economics can move dramatically. It changes the game.”

I enjoy translating from English into Spanish for whatever task or project is asked of me. The fact of being able to master two languages (English and Spanish) has always been an asset for me throughout my career. I have translated over the years for the different positions I have held in marketing, sales, foreign trade, telecommunications and education. I have a bachelor’s degree in translation from the Universidad del Salvador (Argentina): from English (British and American) into Spanish (Castilian, Latin American, and Standard Spanish).
