Bio

As someone fascinated by languages, I fell in love with English and translation when I was 13, when I started learning the language by translating song lyrics by The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. The love for language increased and following it led me to...

QUALIFICATIONS

1. THE UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS- PG Dip on Applied Translations Studies (2018/2019)

2. UNIVERSIDADE DE SÃO PAULO- Letras- English and Portuguese  (Literature, Languages, Linguistics)- (2007/2013)

3. FCE (Cambridge First Certificate on English) - 2008

LANGUAGES:

Native in Brazilian Portuguese.

C2 level in English. Excellent knowledge of grammar, punctuation and idioms (one of my favourite hobbies is to learn and catalogue them).

CAT TOOLS

Memsource is my to-go tool, but I have experience of MateCat, SDL- TRADOS, MemoQ and OmegaT.

Experience

As a translator:

Through the years I have translated for:

- NGO Acer Brazil and Articulate, project My World ENUK>PTBR

- Martial Arts/ Self Improvement book  (A Lei da Espada by Jefferson Flausino) PTBR>USEN

Occasional translations of abstracts for Masters and PHD submissions for friends in the academic world especially focused on literary fields.

As a teacher/tutor:

Over 10 years of experience as a teacher in some prestigious Brazilian Language Schools for all levels (CNA), including multilevel groups (Wise Up). I also have vast experience of Communicative Approach and Task-Based Learning.

I can also teach Portuguese and can cover all levels.

- Normally I prepare tailored lessons for students after evaluating their strong points and points for improvement.

What I can offer...

1. Great translation of texts in English into Brazilian Portuguese. The devil lives in details, and I certainly have an eye for these.

2. 3,000- 3,500 words a day.

3. Reasonable rates and great punctuality (this is quite obvious but I can guarantee that.)

4. Great communication.

Free Time

- I write, edit and run my indie music blog. Lots of news and track by track reviews- Noiseless Music

- I love spending a beautiful afternoon taking photographs

- I also love baking! Especially cookies, cakes and bread!
