Source text - English The Arab Spring began at the end of 2010 when Mohamed Bouazizi self-immolated in Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia. Bouazizi was selling fruit on a street in Sidi Bouzid and Tunisian police confistated his fruit and started insulting Bouazizi's father who died when he was 3 years old. He decided to buy gasoline and burned himself. But there was a more important reason for the injustice suffered by Bouazizi and many Tunisians. The corruption and inequality and repression of human rights in Tunisian society caused Bouazizi's despair. He became a martyr in Tunisia and his death led to demonstrations across the country. IAlthough the Tunisian army resisted initially, the protests gained popularity across Tunisia and the protesters succeeded in overthrowing the regime of the dictator Zine el-Abadine Ben Ali who fled to Saudi Arabia after resisting for three weeks and 6 days. Demonstrations spread to other countries in the Arab world. The revolution began in Egypt on January 26, 2011 and ousted Hosni Mubarak after 3 weeks. The same process occurred during 2011 in Libya and Yemen. Demonstrations in Syria and Yemen led to a conflict that is still ongoing. The instability in Syria and Iraq have led to the rise of ISIS and this region has been characterised by violence and chaos. There have been few countries in the Arab world that have not experienced a serious threat to their survival.	Translation - Arabic بدأ الربيع العربي نهاية عام ٢٠١٠ عندما احرق محمد البوعزيزي نفسه في مدينة سيدي بوزيد في تونس. كان بوعزيزي يبيع الفواكه في شارع في سيدي بوزيد و صادرت الشرطة التونسية رخصته و كانت الشرطة تذله. اهان رجال الشرطة البوعزيزي بشتم والده الذي مات عندما كان عمره ٣ سنوات. فقرر ان يشتري البنزين و احرق نفسه. ولكن كان هناك سبب اهم للظلم الذي عانى البوعزيزي و كثير من التونسيين. الفساد وعدم المساواة و كبت حقوق الانسان في المجتمع التونسي عوامل تسببت في يأس البوعزيزي. اصبح شهيدا في تونس وأدت وفاته الى مظاهرات عبر البلد. وعلى الرغم من مقاومة الجيش التونسي للمظاهرات في البداية، حصلت المظاهرات على شعبية كبيرة عبر تونس ونجح المتظاهرون في اسقاط النظام الدكتاتوري لزين العابدين بن علي و هرب بن علي الى السعودية بعد مقاومة لثلاثة اسابيع و٦ ايام. انتشرت المظاهرات الى البلدان الاخرى في العالم العربي. بدأت الثورة في مصر ٢٦ يناير٢٠١١ و أسقط نظام حسني مبارك بعد ٣ اسابيع. حدثت نفس العملية خلال عام ٢٠١١ في ليبيا و اليمن. و ادت المظاهرات في سوريا و اليمن الى الصراع الذي مازال استمرار إلى الآن. ادى عدم الاستقرار في سوريا و العراق الى ظهور الدولة الاسلامية و تتسم هذه المنطقة بالعنف و الفوضى. كان هناك عدد قليل من بلدان في العالم العربي التي لم تجرب تهديدا خطيرا لبقائها.
