Source text - English WHEREAS - the Buyer desires to purchase from the Seller the machinery described in Annex 1 (hereinafter the “Machinery”), having the technical specifications set forth in said Annex 1 (hereinafter the “Offer”) and meeting the performance criteria also set forth in Annex 1 (hereinafter the “Performance Criteria”), subject to the terms and conditions set forth below;
and - the Seller, having the necessary skill, know-how, and resources to design, manufacture, supply and install the Machinery, is willing to sell said Machinery to the Buyer;
NOW THEREFORE THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS
1) Subject of the Agreement
1.1 The Buyer hereby agrees to purchase from the Seller, and the Seller hereby agrees to sell and provide to the Buyer, the Machinery having the Technical Specifications subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein. In case of discrepancies between the Offer sent to the Buyer by the Seller and this contract, the Offer shall supersede and prevail on the provisions of this contract, although sent prior to the signing of this contract.
1.2. The Seller shall supply the Buyer, free of charge, with the documentation relating to the Machinery. Said documentation shall be supplied to the Buyer according to the CE legislation.
1.3. The Buyer warrants that the Buyer purchases the Machinery for a lawful and legitimate civil use (only) and is the end-user of the Machinery.
2) Changes in the Machinery and Technical Specifications
2.1. The Seller shall be entitled to make any changes that lead to improvements, provided that such changes do not affect the performance of the Machinery indicated in the Offer.

1.2. Продавец не взимает плату за поставку Покупателю всей документации, необходимой для корректной работы Оборудования. Поставка вышеуказанной документации производится с соблюдением всех норм и стандартов, принятых в Европейском Союзе.
1.3. Покупатель подтверждает,что приобретает Оборудование для законного и правомерного использования исключительно в гражданских целях и является конечным пользователем Оборудования.
2) Изменения, вносимые в Оборудование и его технические характеристики
2.1. Продавец уполномочен производить любые изменения которые ведут к улучшению Оборудования только в случае, если данные изменения не влияют на эксплуатационные характеристики Оборудования, указанные в Предложении.

To the west, far off across the harbor, the sun was descending into a landscape I knew only as “Jersey.” Clouds were slowly tumbling, dark in the foreground, edged orange in the distance. Freighters moved slowly, like toy boats, cutting fragile white lines in the black water. In Manhattan, the tall buildings were merging with the gathering darkness, no lights burning in that time of war. Above the distant, jagged mass, a few stars glimmered, tiny holes punched through the curtain of streaked, dark blue sky. Below me were the rooftops of half a hundred houses.
All of it was a dazzling display of form, color, and mysterious shadow, rising past the limits of what we called “the neighborhood.”

Source text - English These are the bare bones of I Like America and America Likes Me, one of the most evocative and mysterious performances by the German artist Joseph Beuys, who died of heart failure while at work in his studio 30 years ago this month. A sculptor, teacher, political activist, pioneering environmentalist, self-styled shaman, alleged charlatan and proven liar, Beuys was among the greatest postwar artists; artists, that is, who grapple with the world that follows war.
His central interest was transformation, the alchemy of one thing turning into another. As a boy in Cleves, northwest Germany, he had dreamed of becoming a doctor, and though art soon superseded medicine, he continued to strive in all his varying mediums to propose magical strategies of healing, to translate sickness into health. “Yes,” he told an interviewer in 1979, “perhaps I have a mission ... to change the social order.” It was this gargantuan intention that unified his divergent activities, from lecture tours to sculpture.
Beuys’s drawings are formally exquisite, possessing the same impossible liveliness as the cave paintings in Lascaux. But much of his other work pushed the boundaries of what could be considered art, bringing unprecedented items into the gallery. Composed of humble, even abject materials, his sculptures and installations were designed to kindle raw emotional responses in the viewer (fury particularly pleased him).
