Bio

I am an educator, instructional designer, mathematician, and physician deeply interested in languages and their variants.

How to match my humanities interests with my scientific background?

Enter a friend who was beginning her translation business some time ago and called me to help with some terminology, and I was in for good.

I brushed my skills as a Spanish copyeditor and style editor through online courses offered by Trágora —a spin-off of the University of Granada, Spain— and polished my scientific writing skills in English through a course offered by Stanford University at Coursera.

Currently, I have been working on:

  • linguistic validation and cognitive debriefing of medical questionnaires,
  • reviewing medical and biological translations,
  • giving input to reviewers
  • comparing and evaluating translations

The opportunity to share my clinical and teaching experience to improve communication, health literacy and reduce misunderstanding arrived.

Any content should be thoroughly translated, edited, and adapted, but medical content carries a unique legal risk. On this, I would like to contribute my insider perspective. Among colleagues and students, being there gives you a unique cutting-edge vocabulary for delivering a clear, accessible, and compassionate message; this is my commitment.
