Source text - English Case report: reduction of low back pain in a professional golfer.
Previous research agrees that the majority of injuries that affect male golfers are located in the lower back and that they are related to improper swing mechanics and/or the repetitive nature of the swing. This study describes the trunk motion and paraspinal muscle activity during the swing of a golfer with related low back pain (LBP) and assesses the effect of a 3-month period of muscle conditioning and coaching on these variables. Motion of the trunk was measured using three-dimensional video analysis and electromyograms (EMGs) were recorded from the same six sites of the erector spinae at the start and end of the 3-month period. At the end of the period, the golfer was able to play and practice without LBP. Coaching resulted in an increase in the range of hip turn and a decrease in the amount of shoulder turn, which occurred during the swing. In addition, a reduction in the amount of trunk flexion/lateral flexion during the downswing occurred in conjunction with less activity in the left erector spinae. These changes may serve to reduce the torsional and compressive loads acting on the thoracic and lumbar spine, which in turn may have contributed to the cessation of the LBP and would reduce the risk of reoccurrence in the future. In conclusion, further research with more subjects would now be warranted in order to test the findings of this program for the prevention of low back in golfers as piloted in this case report.
Low back pain in professional golfers: the role of associated hip and low back range-of-motion deficits.
BACKGROUND: Low back pain is fairly prevalent among golfers; however, its precise biomechanical mechanism is often debated.
HYPOTHESIS: There is a positive correlation between decreased lead hip rotation and lumbar range of motion with a prior history of low back pain in professional golfers.
STUDY DESIGN: A cross-sectional study.
METHODS: Forty-two consecutive professional male golfers were categorized as group 1 (history of low back pain greater than 2 weeks affecting quality of play within past 1 year) and group 2 (no previous such history). All underwent measurements of hip and lumbar range of motion, FABERE's distance, and finger-to-floor distance. Differences in measurements were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test.

Předchozí výzkum vykazuje, že většina zranění, která postihují golfisty, se vyskytují v kříži a souvisejí s nesprávným úderem a/nebo opakující se činnosti úderu. Tato studie popisuje pohyb trupu a aktivitu páteřního svalu během úderu golfisty, se související bolestí v bederní oblasti (LBP) a stanovuje účinek 3 měsíčního období péče o sval za určitých podmínek. Pohyb trupu byl měřen za užití trojrozměrné video analýzy. Elektromyogramy (EMG) byly zaznamenány ze stejných šesti stran vzpřimovače páteře na začátku a na konci 3 měsíčního období. Na konci tohoto období byl golfista schopný hrát a trénovat bez LBP.
Příprava vyústila ve zvýšení rozsahu kyčelní rotace a snížení rozsahu ramenního obratu, které úder doprovázelo. Mimoto, snížení trupového/bočního ohybu během dolního úderu se objevilo ve spojení s menším vývojem aktivity v levém vzpřimovači páteře. Tyto změny mohou sloužit ke snížení torzní a stlačující zátěži vyvíjené na hrudní a bederní páteř, které opět mohly přispět k zastavení LBP a tak snížit riziko opětovnému výskytu v budoucnu. Na závěr, další výzkum s více předměty by nyní zaručil nálezy tohoto programu pro ochranu dolní části zad u golfistů, jak je uvedeno v této kasuistice.

METODY: Čtyřicet dva profesionálních golfistů bylo rozčleněno do skupin. Skupina 1 (s dřívějšími problémy s bolestí v bederní části, která přetrvávala více jak dva týdny a ovlivňovala tak kvalitu hry během posledního roku) a skupina 2 (bez podobných předešlých problémů). Všichni prošli měřením kyčelního a bederního rozsahu pohybu, FABERE vzdálenosti a vzdálenosti od země ke konečkům prstů. Whichever part of the country the bride may be from; her hands are adorned with the lovely red hue of mehendi. Visit a local bazaar and get your hands coloured. Popular traditional images used in mehendi designs are the peacock, the national bird of India, the lotus flower, and an elephant with a raised trunk - a symbol of good luck.
It usually takes over six hours for the mehendi to set properly. The intricate patterns are dabbed with cotton balls doused in sugar syrup and lime juice to make the mehendi darker.
Play cricket in the park:
Cricket is a national passion. The obsession for the game has bewildered historians who are at a loss to describe the enthusiasm. At every park in the country, cricket is played by youngsters. Particularly on weekends. So grab a pair of sports shoes and join in the fun and frolic.

Spojené státy jsou ve spotřebě doplňků stravy na prvním místě na světě. Zkušenosti lékařů ukazují, že i Češi se vydávají stejnou cestou. Podle vědců spočívá problém v tom, že si mnoho lidí myslí, že jim nemohou ublížit. Pokud se však těchto doplňků stravy v těle nahromadí moc, mohou vésti i k úmrtí. Odborníci se shodují na jednom: kdyby byly tyto doplňky na předpis, riziko jejich nadužívání by se snížilo.

The experience of doctors shows, that even Czechs are heading the same way. Scientists assume, the problem consists in people thinking, that it cannot hurt. In case, though, that a lot of food complement accumulate in one’s body, it may even cause death.
Specialists agree on one thing: if these supplements were on prescription, the danger of overdosing would decrease.

STIG BJÖRKMAN: Then you wrote and acted in the play Play It Again, Sam. I believe this was your only stage appearance in a play. How was this experience?
WOODY ALLEN: It was fun. I liked Diane Keaton and Tony Roberts, and we had a good time doing it. The play was successful. And the director who directed it for the stage, Joe Hardy, did a good job. Once the play opened, it was a very easy job. There is no easier job than being in a play. I mean, you have the whole day off and you do whatever you want. You can write, you can relax, whatever you want. You just drop over to the theatre at eight o´clock at night. I would walk over there with Diane. I lived within walking distance and we could take a nice stroll down Broadway. Then you go in. There´s no nervous tension. The play is running. You´re onstage with your friends. Curtain goes up. You play it. It´s about an hour and a half. And two hours later you´re in a restaurant having dinner with your friends. It´s the easiest job in the world! So it was very pleasurable.
SB: You didn´t find it at all difficult, having written the play and being directed by somebody else?
WA: No, not at all. I have never really wanted to direct in the theatre. So I didn´t really care about it. And Joe Hardy was fine. I don´t mind being directed by other people. I enjoy my experiences.
SB: Later, when the play was filmed, it was directed by Herbert Ross. Didn´t you ever think of directing it yourself?
WA: No, I never wanted to make Play It Again, Sam into a film. But then, my agents sold the play to the movies, and I was glad of that. When they sold it I was not significantly well-known enough to play in it. I was not eligible as a movie star. They tried to get other people to play in it. And these people turned it down. Finally, I became more well-known from doing my own films, and they said, ´OK, we will take a chance with him.`

WOODY ALLEN: Byla to legrace. Měl jsem Diane Keaton a Tonyho Robertse rád a při vzniku představení jsme se bavili. Hra byla úspěšná. A režisér, který ji zrežíroval, Joe Hardy, odvedl dobrou práci. Jakmile se hra dostala na jeviště, šlo to velmi lehce. Není nic lehčího, než si zahrát v divadelním představení. Víte, máte celý den volno a děláte, co se Vám zachce. Můžete psát, odpočívat, cokoliv chcete. Jenom se v osm večer zastavíte v divadle. S Diane jsme chodívali do divadla pěšky. Bydlel jsem poměrně blízko, a tak jsme si mohli vychutnat příjemnou procházku po Brodwayi. Pak vkročíte dovnitř. Necítíte žádnou nervozitu. Hra začne běžet. S kamarády jste na jevišti. Zvedne se opona. Odehrajete svou roli. Jedná se zhruba o hodinu a půl. A po dvou hodinách si se svými přáteli pochutnáváte v restauraci na večeři. Je to ta nejsnazší práce na světě. Takže jsem si to velice užil.
SB: Nepřišlo Vám to vůbec těžké, být režírován někým jiným, když jste hru sám napsal?
WA: Ne, zdaleka ne. Nikdy jsem nechtěl režírovat divadelní hru. A tak mi to bylo docela jedno. A Joe Hardy byl znamenitý. Nevadí mi být režírován ostatními lidmy. Libuji si v rozličných zkušenostech.
SB: Později, když byla hra zfilmovaná, byla režírována Herbertem Rossem. Nikdy jste nepřemýšlel, že byste ji režíroval vy?
WA: Ne, nikdy jsem Zahraj to znovu, Same zfilmovat nechtěl. Ale později moji manažeři prodali hru do filmu a já jsem za to byl rád. Když ji prodali, nebyl jsem příliš známý, abych si v ní zahrál. Nebyl jsem žádná filmová hvězda. Ptali se různých herců, jestli by to nevzali, ale nikdo se nechytil. Nakonec jsem se stal známějším díky psaní filmů a oni řekli, „dobře, dáme mu šanci.“
