Experience
Years of experience: 16. Registered at ProZ.com: Sep 2011.
I am a qualified translator to Swedish from English and Spanish, with competence also for translation from Danish and Norwegian. I have vast experience in translating specialized texts from various subject fields, as well as a big interest in working with literature.
I have a Master's Degree in Translation of Language for Special Purposes, at Göteborg University.
Since September 2011 I work as a freelance translator.
My favourite subject fields to deal with are religion, music, travelling/geography, and languages. However, I have been working with many other special areas as well; in particular, EU texts, medical documentation, and technical manuals have occurred very frequently. I am also very much acquainted with package leaflets, safety data sheets, contracts etc.
The eagerness to learn is one of my biggest driving forces, but I am also driven by the fact that I love to work with languages and get an outlet for my creativity as I write. The translator’s profession is a wonderful combination of these three factors!
For me, some of the important things about a project is openness, honesty, commitment and interest. You should be able to actually feel something for the text you work with!
I live on a small island in the municipality of Tjörn, on the west coast of Sweden, and my home is also my working place.
