I am a United States citizen with Secret Clearance. I am a professional, experienced linguist who is looking to utilize the experiences and education I have acquired in a diverse, multi-faceted company whose primary focus is linguistic interpretation and translation.

Work Experience
Active Language Services CEO, Translator/Interpreter (Feb 2014- Present)

I started my own company to provide interpreting and translating services for over 600 clients in the Salt Lake City metro area. I interpret in medical, legal, and educational settings. I have also received training for notary and tax services. I have assisted many clients as they apply for asylum and citizenship. Using my language skills, I have helped refugees and other Arabic speaking clients navigate the legal and immigration systems of the United States.




Utah Health & Human Rights Case Manager/ Linguist (April 2012-Feb 2014)

I coordinated psychological and medical services for refugees and survivors of torture. I have educated my clients about the system of government and services available in the state of Utah. I have helped clients apply for benefits provided from Department of workforce Services. I have assisted my clients with applying for housing, applying for educational opportunities, making medical appointments, and managing their transportation. Under my management, 165 clients have progressed towards becoming independent and self-sufficient citizens.




Department of Defense GSE12 Arabic Linguist (Dec 2007 –March 2010)

I worked for 312 and 1230 PSYOP US Special Operations unit translating documents from English to Arabic and Arabic to English. I also convinced Iraqi people of the importance of US troops in Iraq. During this same time, I worked for 506 EOD and Weapon Intelligence Team WIT11 and prepared lessons and taught classes to Iraqi Army and Iraqi Criminal investigation Department. These lessons included topics such as how to handle a crime scene and how to prepare for the withdrawal of American troops. As a linguist, I accompanied American troops on missions and interpreted local languages and customs.




HELSINKI CITIZENS ASSEMBLY Linguist- 4 languages (Nov 2006 - Sep 2007)

Refugees Legal Assistant Program, Istanbul, Turkey
I interpreted for refugees from countries bordering Turkey who wanted to come to the United States. I interpreted for the Refugees Legal Assistant Program employees and the refugees in four different languages including: Arabic, Kurdish, Turkmen, Turkish and English. I translated documents from English to Arabic and Arabic to English.




Titan/L3, Kirkuk Iraq Arabic Linguist (Feb 2005 - Oct 2006)

I accompanied American troops on missions as their linguist and cultural adviser. I trained the Iraqi Staff officers in the Head Quarter techniques and trained the officers on managing personal, military intelligence, operations, supply and communications.
