My name is Ieva Pudane. I am 31 years old. Originally I come from Latvia, but I live in the Netherlands already for 7 years. I got my bachelor degree in English Philology at the University of Latvia, Foreign Languages faculty. Shortly after my graduation I moved to the Netherlands where I got my master degree in American Studies at the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of History. I started working as a freelance translator since I have always been interested in languages and I decided that it was also an excellent opportunity to improve my Dutch knowledge. I worked together with a certified and very experienced translator who helped me to find my way around in this new working sphere. My experience as a freelance translator is 3 years. After I got an administrative/ research position at the French pharmaceutical company sanofi-aventis, I had to quit my freelance job due to lack of time and necessity to put all my energy in the new job position. I work already for 3 years at this company which makes me experienced and confident in my position therefore I can use the extra time I have to improve my translator’s skills. I have never worked before using a website to search for suitable projects, gain experience, make contacts with fellow translators or possible employers. I am very excited to start the work and get experienced in this work field.
