I am a professional translator with over 25 years of experience translating between English, Swedish and Spanish, specializing in legal and commercial/financial translations. My ample translation experience also includes such diverse translations as software localization, marketing, financial statements, instruction manuals, and cookbooks. Certificate of General Translation at NYU. Previously employed by Swedish Foreign Ministry and the Swedish Trade Council, with 10 years experience in the music business with BMG Music Internaltional.

Born in Sweden, I was educated primarily in English-speaking countries, making both Swedish and English my native languages. I have lived in Sweden, Belgium, Canada, Australia, Spain, Mexico and the United States, and have been translating to/from Spanish, English and Swedish since 1985.

Since 1998, I have freelanced for several direct clients and translation agencies, both in the US and in Sweden, providing freelance translations for Cravath, Swaine & Moore, one of the most prestigious law firms in the US, as well as JP Morgan International, Merrill Corp, Disney, McDonald's, Nike, Burger King, Lucent Technologies, H&M, ACN, DMV, PaySys, and many more. I have provided exclusive legal translations for a law firm in Stockholm, as well as software localization services for a localization firm in Sweden, after having worked for several years as head translator for a Swedish business software manufacturer. I also had one of the world's largest telecommunications companies as a direct client, as I handled all their translations from English into Swedish and vice versa.

In addition to my specialization in legal translations, I have also translated two cookbooks from Swedish into English: PONTUS BY THE BOOK – Flavours, aromas and recipes from the Green House (an award-winning cookbook by Master Chef Pontus Frithiof, Swedish>English, published in 2006) and UNDER THE WALNUT TREE by Sweden’s best-selling cookbook authors Anna Bergenström and Fanny Bergenström in 2011.

In the past, I have been a member of the American Translators Association (ATA), The Swedish Association of Professional Translators (SFÖ) and The Swedish Translators’ Center (Översättarcentrum), an association of published literary translators, as well as a former Board Member of The Swedish Association of Professional Translators (SFÖ).

After 16 years of freelance translation, I have decided to move on to something new and accepted a fulltime position outside of the translation industry. As of September 1, 2014, I will no no longer be taking on translation assignments. Many thanks to all my colleagues, friends and clients who have made these years such a wonderful experience.
