Translators in Brisbane! 11:59
Hi,

I am an Italian freelance translator based in Trieste, Italy, and will spend a whole week in Brisbane next January. I'd love to meet colleagues living and working in the area in order to share opinions, knowledge in the translation industry in Australia and Italy, contacts, or simply to have fun. I can help with the organisation, even though I cannot suggest any venues in Brisby for the time being. I am so excited about making my first trip to Australia and meeting you all!

A presto!

I will be going to the AUSIT network event on the 20th and hope to meet some of you there. I would probably be interested in a powwow in a month or two.

Co-working Jan 9, 2018

I'll be happy to go, and I was also thinking maybe there could be a monthly or bi-monthly co-working arrangement where translators bring their work or study materials and meet in one of Brisbane's public libraries. I myself sometimes go to the State Library of Queensland or Brisbane City Library to work from there and I like the environment in these places. Both also have a coffee shop immediately outside the library where people can sit down and chitchat when they are taking a break from work. ... See more

I've been to a number of AUSIT events but I feel co-working arrangement might be a better way for translators to get to know each other professionally.Collapse

Time/location? Jan 10, 2018

Has this been confirmed?

The Library idea sounds cool! Although it'll depend on the scale of whatever project I've got going on.

I'll be going to the AUSIT event too. See you there otherwise.
