I don't really have a main current client, or if I do it varies from month to month. But as all my clients are in Europe, then I guess they would be in Europe.
This month's biggest invoice will probably go to Switzerland. Last month it was the UK. The month before that may well have been Germany.

I have several very good clients, not just one *main* client, and I'd have to name Europe and the U. S. as my reply if I wanted to give an idea about where they are from. Nevertheless, I also work(ed) for individuals and agencies from other places of the world when asked and it fitted my schedule.

Who is the client? The agency that coordinates the project? The headquarters that pay the agency? The organisation that needs my translations and requested the job in the first place?
This involves 3 continents in my case (Europe, North America and Asia)... for a huge project I've been working on for 5 years already and which will probably last another 3 or 4.
Not my only but definitely my main client...

However, I voted Europe, as practically all my clients are in Europe, however you define them.
One client that I used to regard as my main client went bankrupt a couple of years ago, and after that experience I would advise everyone to make sure you do not depend too much on any one client. It was simply a superb agency...

Didn't their Blue Board start reflecting later payments ? There should have been warning signs, available to all... That's also what these Blue Boards are for, I think. Of course, it's a bit hard to criticize a customer, but business is business...

the main client means the one that relatively continuously supplies me with translation jobs.
But if the main client means the one that offers the biggest translation job, then the answer is Australia.

The largest proportion of respondents indicate Europe as the center for their main clientele. Why? Because most Proz users are from Europe or work there.
The bulk of my clientele is based in America —the poll percentage of America-based clients so far shows north of 11%.
A side topic: the globalization of business activities is not a worldwide phenomenon, more like a regional one. Different economic blocs behave slightly diffe... See more ...and it is not surprising.

Overall I have a handful of major clients, two are European, two are American and one is in Singapore.
Are most Proz'ers really European?
Does that count for both freelancers and agencies?
