Pls see below Explanation: The problematic sound here is Ü - I'm afraid there's no equivalent of this sound in English; the closest I can come up with is the U in dUke, but it is really not the same. Ü is a front vowel, voiced in an open and straight way. But if you have even a very basic understanding of German pronounciation, it is the same as in German: sÜd, zÜrich, mÜnchen, kÜhl, etc. Or, very close to the U in French "tu." Assuming we've solved the Ü, the rest is as follows: ütch [Ç is pronunced as in the TCH combination in hiTCH or cluTCH] / bü [similar to BUchanan, but see above for Ü] / yük [Y as in Yellow and ÜK as in rÜCKstein] / LER [similar to LERington, although E is straighter as in bEd and the R sound is clearly heard] -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 34 mins (2007-08-15 13:43:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or, try this: Uetch Bueyuecklear [the "lear" syllable should be pronounced shorter, though] |
