Turkish term or phrase: Zeytinyağlı
Bu genel bir yemek grubu adı. Maalesef doğru dürüst bir karşılık bulamadım. Acaba batı kültürlerinde benzeri var mıdır tercümelerde kullanabileceğim?
This is a group of dishes cooked with Olive Oil or Liquid Oil in Turkish cuisine. Unfortunately, I cannot find corresponding term for this type of dishes. Is there any similar group / generic name for food cooked with olive oil / liquid oil?
ATB Translation
Türkiye
zeytinyagli
Explanation:
I don't see why you must "translate" a traditional dish.

I would use it as it is, and then would may be explain in parenthesis as Cagdas did.

This is purely my opinion though...

antipasta

Explanation:
This one is hard to translate since Turkish cuisine is unique to its dishes. For foreigners, term "antipasta" is being widely used and they are more familiar with this Italian term that could be subsititued for "zeytinyagli".
Best wishes on your translation.

neutral  Nagme Yazgin: No. Not all `antipasta` are zeytinyagli. Antipasti (plural: Antipasta) is "meze".

meatless dishes cooked in olive oil

Explanation:
Girit kökenli olduğumuz için hassasım herhalde bu konuda. Bence olive oil dishes veya dishes cooked in/with olive oil bu ifadeyi karşılamaz hatta yanılgıya sebep olur. Zira et içermemeleri ayırt edici özellikleri.

"This is a traditional, greek family dish. It is very easy to prepare once you remember to soak the beans overnight. The particular kind of beans is essential to the recipe. They are also called Elephant Beans. You can cook this dish a couple of days in advance. It actually improves after one or two days, like all Ladera, meaning ***meatless dishes cooked in olive oil***."

Başka bir kaynakta da meatless olive oil dishes diye kullanılmış ama bunu da söz dizimi açısından beğenmedim.

The zeytinyagli dishes are made from the seasonal vegetable and are delicious eaten as a main dish with plenty of wonderful Turkish bread.
