Swedish term or phrase: att han då var i konen
Jag har följande fras: När jag fick tag på honom förstod jag att han då var i konen, det kan även en generallöjtnant vara. Det beskriver hur generallöjtnanten reagerar när han hör att albaner är på väg mot serbiska posteringar in Kosovo.
'Att vara i konen' är en fras jag inte träffat på tidigare. Är det någon som kan hjälpa mig med detta?

Explanation:
Could this be a typo for an intended way of saying that the lieutenant general was boiling mad or boiling over? The NATO forces in Kosovo have been commanded at various times by various lieutenant generals, presumably none of which would be pleased to hear that the Albanians were advancing on the Serbs.

stressed out

Explanation:
Att vara i konen, hamna i konen, etc (lit. being in the cone, falling in the cone) refers to the effect of loosing peripheral vision during high stress levels (i.e. seeing as inside a cone). The metaphore is typical Swedish armed forces and refers to lacking ability to see and notice anything outside the immediate focus. See https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stressed-out

Example sentence(s):
  • Han var helt i konen och såg inte fienden på flanken.
