Non che raffinare non sia giusto, per carità, ma nel testo vengono usati entrambi i termini e trattare è l'alternativa più adeguata in questo caso. Grazie a tutti.

agree  CHUSI: Anche un simple "trattare" può andare bene. Saluti! :) DRAE:Refinar=Hacer más puro o más fino algo,separando las heces y materias heterogéneas o groseras. Efectivamente en una refineria de petróleo se lleva a cabo el "proceso" de refinación... ;)
