Las naves que formaban la fábrica estaban comunicadas por una red de canales realizados en piedra y con distintas disposiciones: soterrados, abiertos en suelo o ***incluso en altura***. Todo el proceso consumía importantes cantidades de agua, por lo que eran necesarias estas canalizaciones de suministro desde el río y de evacuación hacia el mar.

No acabo de entender este concepto. ¿Quiere decir que los canales se situaban en el techo de las naves? y abiertos en suelo ¿se refiere al suelo de las naves?
