social good Explanation: The ESY was founded on the principle that health is a social good and it should be provided by the state equitably for everyone, regardless of social and economic status (Law 1397/1983). http://www.euro.who.int/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/373695/h... It appears that the terms 'social good' and 'public good' both refer to the same thing. In economics, a public good (also known as a social good or collective good) is a good that is both non-excludable and non-rivalrous, in that individuals cannot be excluded from use or could benefit from without paying for it, and where use by one individual does not reduce availability to others or the good can be used simultaneously by more than one person.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_good_(economics)#:~:tex... |
