Spanish term or phrase: CURVA PROBLEMA
I have a document relating to methodology for antibiotic valuation and laboratory procedures involved in this. I have the term curva patrón, which means "standard curve", then "recta problema" and this is a real problem, pardon the pun, as I can't find any hits for it.
e.g.: "Se realiza el ensayo analizando una recta patrón y una recta problema en un rango que contenga las concentraciones de trabajo para comprobar que la respuesta es lineal em ambas rectas y paralelas entre ellas."

Please can somebody help me with this term as it is pretty central to the procedure I am translating and I haven't a clue. Many thanks!

RECTA PROBLEMA
Problem line

Explanation:
Here's my translation of the text you give:
The test is carried out by analysing a standard line and a problem line in a range that contains the working concentrations to verify that the response is linear in both lines and parallel between them."

Once again, it is impossible to give an accurate answer if you don't give context nor any examples of the word "curva" in the text given - if it says "curva" then use "curve" - I think you are over-complicating things. This is obviously not pure maths - but the results of laboratory tests illustrated graphically. Why not ask the client for images of these "curves" or "lines"?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Phil, I was asking what RECTA PROBLEMA means, as stated in the question, why are you confused? I gave the context and stated the problem, i.e. that recta can mean curve. There doesn't appear to be any such thing as a PROBLEM LINE, in this context at least, but thanks for the suggestion Jo, all suggestions are always gratefully received. :)

agree  philgoddard: I'm still confused by this question, and I'm not even clear what term Heather is asking about. But I agree with your translation, and I hope you get some points.
