Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Real Estate / Real Estate Contract
Spanish term or phrase: Carta Oferta de Compraventa de Inmueble
I have been asked to translate a Real Estate contract from a close friend and client, but I do not specialize in Real Estate terminology. The contract consists of a buyer putting in a bid for the property through a broker, and the contract is being sent to the property owner, who is American and speaks English. I understand the majority of the terms like buyer, bidder, owner, etc. However, I can't seem to find a good translation for the contract title.
The term is "Carta Oferta de Compraventa de Inmueble" and the broker that wrote this contract is Mexican, specifically operating in Quintana Roo. The contract starts out like this: "El suscrito, [nombre y apellidos]*, persona física, de nacionalidad mexicana..."

The only thing I can think of is "Offer Letter for Property Purchase", but that seems choppy and not correct Real Estate terminology.

Could I have advise from a professional? Like I mentioned, this isn't really my specialization, but the document is short so I took on the job.

neutral  ShaneBoisvert: I really don't think compraventa should be translated as sales-purchase. It should just be left as purchase

neutral  AllegroTrans: sale-purchase doesn't work; a person either makes an offer to sell or an oofer to purchase, not both

Letter of Intent (LOI)/Memorandum of Agreement (MOU)

Explanation:
En el blog que pongo como referencia y es de México: *una carta de oferta o carta de intención de compra...* dando a entender que es lo mismo, y lo que en inglés se dice LOI por *letter of intent*.

Otra referencia, pero de Estados Unidos.
https://www.lawdepot.com/contracts/letter-of-intent/?loc=US#...

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/l/letterofintent.asp

Este sitio lo pone al nivel de un *Memorandum of understanding (MOU*

You should take a look at the contract before you and see what term suits best.

Letter of intent to purchase real estate

Explanation:
In English, Offer Letter is usually related to employment, whereas Letter of Intent is used in business.

Compraventa here just means purchase. Letter of intent to purchase is what you want to use.

This gets about 85,000 hits in quotes, and 16,000,000 without.

Letter of Offer - to buy /AmE/ by 'Deeded' Sale /BrE/ by Conveyance on Sale of Land

Explanation:
I stand corrected, but don't thik it's necessary to spell out the real estate or realty withthe US Definition of a 'Deed'.

Similarly, in England & Wales from my conveyancing experience, a conveyance on sale > cf. the Law Society's Standard Conditions of Sale of Land< implies of land & Buildings, rather than of goods and chattels, e.g. a painting that, both in the US and the UK, would be transferred by a bill of sale absolute vs. by way of mortgage.

Example sentence(s):
  • US: Sale Deed transfers the legal title of property from one person to another in case of a sale. Whereas, a Conveyance Deed can transfer the legal title of property from one person to another in case of a gift, an exchange, a lease (e.g. on a temp. basis
  • US: A deeded property is any type of property that is owned outright in which the deed is recorded in the property's county.
