Spanish term or phrase: Apófisis de las lumbares y cresta sacra.
"DORSAL LARGO:
Origen:
Apófisis espinosa y transversas de las vértebras
dorsales y cara externa de las costillas.
Inserción:
Apófisis de las lumbares y cresta sacra."

Apófisis de las lumbares: if the source text was being more specific it might have said "Apófisis de las vértebras lumbares". So I am wondering whether "Lumbar processes" would be a bit too imprecise, or whether to deviate slightly from the ST by putting "Processes of the lumbar vertebrae".

cresta sacra: as there is more than one sacral crest the meaning could be deduced as either a) a particular sacral crest that is not mentioned, b) crestas sacras / sacral crests (in the plural). Therefore, I am in doubt as to whether to leave it as an imprecise "sacral crest" or to interpret the meaning in the plural and write "sacral crests".

The lower back contains the L1–L5 lumbar vertebrae. The single sacrum, which is also part of the pelvis, is formed by the fusion of five sacral vertebrae. Similarly, the coccyx, or tailbone, results from the fusion of four small coccygeal vertebrae. However, the sacral and coccygeal fusions do not start until age 20 and are not completed until middle age.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you Liz. It does seem appropriate to specify that we are talking about vertebrae, as that is the meaning of the ST.

Lumbar apophysis/ses (if plural) and lumbar crest

Explanation:
Anatomy subject at University.
the ending "sis" as in "analysis" is singular,
the plural "ses" should apply if the term in Spanish refers to many "apófisis", as in Spanish there is only one term for the singular and plural and vertebrae have more than one "apófisis"
