Spanish term or phrase: adherencia a los anuncios televisivos
This is an article about the influence of TV ads on children's eating habits. Some children are strongly influenced by such ads and the article discusses "...la relación entre la adherencia a los anuncios televisivos y el consumo de alimentos..." I'm not sure what to do with 'adherencia'. Any suggestions?

stickiness of / attachment to TV adverts
Explanation:
I wonder does 'adherencia' here mean 'stickiness/attachment'?

Examples are given in the Children’s Food Campaign / British Heart Foundation
report on non-broadcast marketing to children19. The dominant characteristic of techniques aimed at children is that they maximise the ***‘stickiness’ ** of the marketing message – embedding them in play and entertainment and reinforcing them with branded downloadable gifts such as ring tones, toolbars, screensavers or customised cursors.

Through previous research as well as the analysis, it was found that ***emotional appeal and attachment** is the primary method of persuasion for marketing to children. McDonald’s uses the toy premiums to create a link between the children’s favorite characters and the McDonald’s brand. This type of persuasion is extremely subtle yet extremely effect in children.

I've gone with 'attachment', which I think gets across the idea of the children enjoying or taking an active interest in the commercials.

agree  Charles Davis: I think "attachment to" is right. "Adherencia A" must refer to the children's response ("se adhieren a los anuncios"). I don't think it simply means "exposure".

influence of television adds

Explanation:
"Adherencia", in a normal context, would be translated variously as "support", "commitment", or "stickiness" (as in glue!).

In this context, however, that is clearly not what is meant. "Endorsement" may be a closer fit, but if we are talking about children watching an add on telly that is too strong a statement.

For those reasons, I would go for a simple (simplifying if you will) term. It is not a perfect match, but it fits the idea almost perfectly.

I meant "influence of television adverts", rather than the colloquial "adds"...
