Social Sciences - Government / Politics / Argentina - transition to democracy
Spanish term or phrase: condena política
I am translating a piece about Argentina's transition to democracy in which the human rights movements, fearful that the military would be tried in military courts and that there would be no guilty sentences, wanted Congress to pass a "condena política". For example:

In my opinion, none of the "obvious" options work. "political conviction" means being sure of your political beliefs; "political sentence" doesn't mean anything like Congress passing a resolution that condemns an individual or institution for its actions... "political repudiation" is too general.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Explanation:
Not sure if it works or if you already considered it, but you yourself mentioned a resolution that "condemns" an individual or institution.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I think that "political condemnation" works the same as "political repudiation". An article entitled "Broad Political Condemnation of Derry Car Bomb Attack" reads: "Public figures and politicians from across the UK and Republic of Ireland have condemned a car bomb attack on Derry courthouse in Northern Ireland." In the case of Argentina, they are clearly asking for more than politicians to come out and say "What the military did was wrong."
