Para minimizar la variabilidad edafológica tan característica de esta zona (Jaramillo, 2009), se tomaron muestras entre los 0 y 20 cm de profundidad, con tres réplicas en el terreno: a 0 metros, 5 metros y 15 metros del punto en que se muestreó BBB. Posteriormente estas muestras fueron procesadas en el laboratorio utilizando para el cálculo del % MOS el método de oxidación húmeda y cuantificación por colorimetría (Norma NTC 5403), para la densidad aparente el método del cilindro de suelo no alterado (NCRS, 2014; Pla, 2010), y para la medición de la capacidad de retención de agua disponible en el suelo, la determinación de la curva característica de retención que permite el cálculo de los parámetros de humedad del suelo. (USDA-NCRS, 2014).
