Spanish term or phrase: de parado
This term appears in the following sentence:

"Ahora no recuerdo nada de parado, pero bueno, al principio fue un disgusto grande."

I can't find any suitable translation for this. I wondered about something like "straight off" or "right away" but they are just guesses so I would be grateful if anyone knows.

Could she have meant "de pie" as in "pensar de pie" to think on your feet, without much preparation?

being unemployed

Explanation:
"Parado" is an unemployed or jobless person in Spain. So one possible meaning of the sentence could be something like this:

"Now I don't remember anything about being unemployed, but hey, at first it was a big upset."

On the other hand, if the context has nothing to do with unemployment, perhaps some expression like "right now" (I don't remember anything right now…), might work, as you suspected.

"Parado" can mean standing still, so it could be a colloquial thing, like "as I stand here right now"... or words to that effect.
