Context: Renewable energy plants and their classification for remuneration purposes, access tolls, feed-in tarrifs. etc

I want to say "type of facility"; "facility classification"

What do you reckon?

Both are right I think both billh and patinba are right. In general, "standard installations" seems like an appropriate generic term to use; however, as indicated by various comments, in the context of one of the sample source sentences, "facility classification" seems more appropriate...

facility classification

I think it does meen type in this context. The whole sentence sould read: " The tables in this appendix do not assign codes or facility classifications to those sub-groups..."
"Assign codes or standard installations" does not seem to work?
