Apart from the ratings boost a person can gain with accumulated points, it is nice to have an acknowledgement after taking time off from one's own work to help another translator move a job forward. I've learned a lot helping other translators and am grateful for the opportunity. It's alwys interesting to compare solutions. The points are a nice pat on the back!

That's how I feel, Adriana. On one occsion, it was a misunderstanding by the asker, on another the asker stated he rathered people answered out of true interest and not just to get points. I doubt he realized that points can actually help us to get projects.

Margaret, I am also glad you asked! I have never understood why somebody decides not to reward the help he or she asks others to give. Is there a reason? I have always thought it is a mistake or a misunderstanding.
