Podatke o potrošnji domaćinstva u Srbiji prikuplja Republički zavod za statistiku. Cilj ankete je prikupljanje podataka o prihodima, rashodima i potrošnji domaćinstava kao i o nekim važnijim pokazateljima životnog standarda (uslovi stanovanja, snabdevenost domaćinstava trajnim potrošnim dobrima i slično). Poseban cilj ankete, u okviru statističkog sistema, je da obezbedi neophodne podatke za izradu bilansa finalne potrošnje u Sistemu nacionalnih računa, za izračunavanje indeksa potrošačkih cena u okviru Statistike cena, i za konstrukciju linije siromaštva i analizu siromaštva.
