Russian term or phrase: длинные туфли
What does "длинные" mean, exactly, if somebody is described as "в длинных лакированных туфлях". I don't know if these patent-leather shoes have very high heels; or the uppers reach far up the ankle; or they're simply long because the person has big feet.

long-shaped
Explanation:
Hi Rachel, длинные туфли in Russian usually means that they are long-shaped.
They could be also узкие, that makes them look longer. This expression doesn't mean that the heels are high neither that the uppers reach far up the ankle. Even if your feet is not big, your shoes could be "long" because of their shape.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The author revealed that the shoes were, indeed, imagined as being отстроносие, so I ended up calling them "long, pointed-toe patent-leather shoes".
