The basic purpose of the temper mill automation system is to achieve the following goals :

Regulate the strip elongation :
The strip elongation should be kept at a fixed set point, received from Человеко-Машинный Интерфейс, in order to produce coils with homogenous metallurgical properties. This function is performed by the AEC.
HGC is to optimise roll gap adjustment under various rolling condition in order to improve the efficiency of the Automatic Elongation Control (AEC).
