Differential staining of (histological) sections Explanation: Based on your discussion entry, the slides were stained with DAB and then hematoxylin? This would be called differential staining, which requires two or more dyes. In this case, DAB is the primary stain. Hematoxylin is used as a counterstain to DAB. The paragraph in your first post describes counterstaining with hematoxylin. Basically, if both DAB and hematoxylin staining procedures are described under the same heading "Контрастирование срезов", then it's "Differential staining". If it's only for hematoxylin, then it's "Counterstaining". |
