Em 22 de setembro de 1999, a Companhia e a Aneel assinaram o contrato de Concessão de Geração no. x, que regula as concessões de Uso do Bem Público para geração de energia elétrica das usinas Jurumirim, Chavantes, Salto Grande, Capivara, Taquaruçu e Rosana, outorgadas pelo Decreto s/no. de 20 de setembro de 1999. O contrato concede à Companhia o direito de produção e comercialização de energia elétrica na condição de produtor independente, deixando, a partir daquela data, de recolher a Reserva Global de Reversão - RGR, para contribuir com uma taxa de Uso de Bem Público, por um período de 5 anos. O prazo de duração da concessão e do contrato é de 30 anos a partir da data de assinatura do mesmo, podendo ser renovado por período adicional de 20 anos.
