license, qualifications to train flight instructors Explanation: Imo0 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2019-07-17 22:29:26 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- https://www.gao.gov/assets/700/691945.pdf Flight instructors qualified to train flight instructors: FAA requires flight instructors to have a minimum 2 years of instructor experience before they may train other pilots to obtain their CFI certificate. Page 19GAO-18-403Collegiate Aviation Schools44Representatives from almost half (8 of 18) of collegiate aviation schools reported challenges with retaining flight instructors long enough for them to meet that requirement. According to some school representatives, flight instructors typically accrue the minimum hours required to qualify for their ATP or R-ATP within 2 years or soon afterward. The resulting attrition of experienced flight instructors can therefore hamper schools’ ability to train enough pilots to become flight instructors, an ability that is crucial for turning out the next generation of instructors and pilot students. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 mins (2019-07-17 22:37:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A flight instructor is a person who teaches others to fly aircraft. Specific privileges granted to holders of a flight instructor qualification vary from country to country, but very generally, a flight instructor serves to enhance or evaluate the knowledge and skill level of an aviator in pursuit of a higher pilot's license, certificate or rating. |

certification for pilot instructor training Explanation: PILOT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING The task of training instructors is up to the members of the 559th Flying Training Squadron (T-6 Texan IIs), 560th Flying Training Squadron (T-38C Talons), and 99th Flying Training Squadron (T-1A Jayhawks) at Randolph AFB. Sheppard AFB (ENJJPT) conducts their own in-house program to supply instructors to both their T-6 and T-38C squadrons. ENJJPT instructors are from the United States and partner NATO nations. These “instructors of instructors” are as diverse in background as their instructor trainees, and have at least one previous tour teaching undergraduate pilot trainees. https://fightersweep.com/5631/pilot-training-machine-part-ii... |
