Norwegian term or phrase: bevegelig helligdag
I'm sure there is a term for those mainly religious holidays that occur on different dates every year according to moon phases or some such thing - Easter, Ascension Day, Whitsun et cetera. In employment terms, we (Norwegians) use the same term for holidays that occur on different weekdays every year - such as Labour Day, Independence day and Christmas. The literal meaning is 'movable holiday' - so what is the English term?

disagree  Cetra Hastings: The official term used in the UK is either public or bank holiday, both terms now cover all holidays that are set by law and are not "employee" holiday.
