Or media consumer survey for short.
The survey covers more than just TV channels:

Kanalvalgundersøkelsen 2010 utføreres jevnlig av Norsk Gallup, og kartlegger hvordan brukerne opplever kanalenes ulike egenskaper. I år topper Aftenbladet begge listene. Blant alle mediene ligger Aftenbladet over NRK1 og TV2, som innehar sølv- og bronseplassen. I målingen over nettavisen slår Aftenbladet.no VG Nett og Bt.no, som ligger på de to neste plassene.

channel choice survey

Explanation:
I'm sure viewer preference survey would have worked too, as would channel ratiing poll or a good few others. If there is a single exactly right term out there, it escapes me right now.

agree  eodd: Good point. Another variation - a study of media preferences.

  -> Thank you eodd :)

agree  Erik Wallace: A very good point indeed. One that makes the Norwegian name for it quite undescriptive, really.

  -> Thank you Erik :)

agree  Per Bergvall: Have to run with the majority here, but I would have liked viewer rather than consumer. Viewers may be consumers in other context, but in this sphere, they view. They consume nothing.

  -> Thanks for that Per :) although I'm not quite sure that I share your views. After all one does not view hardback newspapers/magazines or the radio, which are also covered in Bridget's latest discussion entry. The term 'forbruker og media' is also found...
