cross-party votes Explanation: Found in the official election manual. "For municipal council elections there shall in addition be a field for personal votes for candidates from other lists (“cross-party votes”). This shall be headed “Candidates from other lists” in the appropriate form of Norwegian. Here evoters enter the name(s) of any candidates from other lists for whom they wish to vote." https://www.regjeringen.no/globalassets/upload/krd/kampanjer/valgportal/valgmedarbeidere/valghandbok/valghandbok_2013_engelsk.pdf Reference: http://www.regjeringen.no/ |

Reference: Electors’ right to make changes on the ballot papers Reference information: The link below might help explain the phenomenon, though "slengestemme" isn't used, of course. I considred "transferable vote" but this may be confused with "single transferable vote", which is not the same. I would consider keeping the Norwegian term and adding an explanation in English. https://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov/2002-06-28-57 |
