Any suggestions
The context is oilwell drilling, but because these terms are arcane & strangely weird, don't be put off suggesting possibilities that on the face of it may seem wrong or absurd. Give me the suggestions & I'll weed through them.
Unlike other KudoZ responses, I know that you Norwegians are a sensible bunch.

Kaks/borekaks = ditch cuttings
The 'rubble' produced by the drilling bit downhole. The 'kaks' is brought to the surface by the mud stream, an is closely examined to see what rock formations the bit is going through. The 'kaks' is contaminated by mud, and possibly oil from the geological formations downhole, and has to be treated as hazardous waste.

If it refers to a person (kakse).

Per Bergvall
: Even if the word appears somewhat similar, it would be a strange dialect that lopped off the last e - and in oilwell drilling context? Methinks not.

Bohrschlamm in German
This would be my guess after having read through a few hits at google for kaks/oil. Maybe this is very absurd but it would also remember me of a rather unpolite German word ("Kacke") which designates something brown and stinky...
