Norwegian term or phrase: gårdsvald
En bosetningsstruktur med mange bosetninger og flytting innenfor ett og samme gårdsvald.

I have tried to find an English translation, but not succeeded yet. I looked up the Norwegian word "vald" in my Norsk illustrert ordbok and it means "jaktrettområde". It think it may have to do with ancient "farm" boundaries.

Asker: Thank you once more. Maybe this could be it. Thanks for the links. I know the term you suggest from proofreading jobs, but I never knew the Norwegian term for it.
