survey / (opinion) poll Explanation: Survey - an investigation of the opinions, behaviour, etc. of a particular group of people, which is usually done by asking them questions; Poll - (also opinion poll) - the process of questioning people who are representative of a larger group in order to get information about the general opinion. They are more or less synonymous. |

closed tender Explanation: This is the type of tender procedure, where the call for tenders is not published. Only pre-selected candidates are approached. The EU institutions use "closed tender", but you may prefer "selective tender"; "limited tender" is also in wide use. For further reference, given that your sample suggests interchangeable use of "supaprastintas pirkimas" and "pirkimas (neskialbiamos) apklausos būdu", please compare the LT and the official EN versions of Article 2(15) of the Law on Public Procurement as amended on 21 June 2011. There "supaprastintas pirkimas" = "simplified procurement procedure". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2013-09-23 11:27:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- As an additional thought, "restricted procedure" could also be a fit, but do check the context. |

Reference Reference information: CLOSED TENDER (definition from business dictionary)The process of selling a product by inviting a select group of potential buyers to provide their highest written offers by a specified date. A business might use a closed tender to distribute an excess amount of manufactured products that it found difficult to sell via its more traditional methods. SURVEY (from the same business dictionary) 1. Marketing: A detailed study of a market or geographical area to gather data on attitudes, impressions, opinions, satisfaction level, etc., by polling a section of the population. Read more: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/survey.html#ixz... So, apklausa in no way shape or form can be translated as closed tender. Closed tender has something to do with seling, offers et cetera, but not with surveys. Not even close. Unless I badly miss something and if that's the case, could anyone provide the definition of tender/closed tender that has something to do with apklausa (survey) ? Thank you |
