file page Explanation: I thought from the email notice that I wouldn't be able to contribute. byla is an archive term for file. This is translated in Lithuanian Historical Studies. Lapas interestingly enough is not. This is a sheet in this file, which I would understand in English as a page (which can have a front and a back). Lithuanians have the same problem with lapas and puslapis. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2009-10-29 22:14:57 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- By the way, Lithuanian Historical Studies gives folio lapas in the legend. And I have usually seen just that ap. (aprasas - inventory) b. f. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2009-10-29 23:25:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I did miss the category. file page would only be applicable to archives, not to court cases. But in the case of a court case, I would still say case page, not case sheet. Usually professional documents are printed on only one side of the page. Thus sheet and page would be identical. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2009-10-30 04:59:39 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Simple test: court " case * page 5" 226 million hits court " case * sheet 5" 42 hits. Sheet is definitely not used for page numbers after case. You do see a lot of cover sheet, demographuc sheet, docket sheet, etc. but that is not what the question asks for. |
