in accordance with/pursuant to Explanation: I read 上り as より because of the position it occupies, and didn't even realise it was unusual until I read the detail of your question. I wouldn't be bothered with the strange usage of the kanji. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2013-10-10 11:08:20 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think it's just a typo. The original document must have been created decades ago, when someone made a handwritten draft and his/her secretary mistakenly read よas 上 when typing it. Since then, nobody seems to have noticed the error. |
