Brief History (or Description, or Background) of Meiji Shrine Explanation: In Eijiro, you find "abbreviation" or "brief sketch" for 略記. http://www2.alc.co.jp/ejr/index.php?word_in=���L&word_in2=��... However, "abbreviation" by itself does not sound good enough in this case given this Shinto shrine's special status (you know who is enshrined in this place I prsume). Then you know there is a lot of history behind this place. For this reason I believe "history" is not so far off. In any event, 略記 is abbreviated story about something, in this case 明治神宮. |
