English translation: Minato-ku, Aoyama, 1 chome, 1 bangai

Japanese term or phrase: 港区青山一丁目1番外
Please advise me on how to translate the "外" part.
I'm guessing that the "外" suggests that there is some additional information that needs not be indicated.
I came up with: "1, Aoyama 1-chome, Minato-ku, etc.", but I have little confidence in my selection.

English translation:Minato-ku, Aoyama, 1 chome, 1 bangai
Explanation:
If you are translating a lease agreement, real estate related documents, family register, etc., I would translate as is. Sometimes
it is awkward to translate banchi and bangai into English.
I think this address exists because there are bangai addresses as shown in the website below.

Explanation:
番外seems to refer to a piece of land with no numbering on the official records. So, in your example, it would refer to a piece of land close to Aoyama 1-chome 1-ban.

1 Aoyama 1-chome, Minato-ku and surrounding areas

Explanation:
You've provided no context, and with the info you have some is needed.

Just FYI, the address 港区青山一丁目1番 does not exist. 港区青山一丁目 doesn't even exist. There are only 港区北青山 and 港区南青山. So my guess is that maybe this is an example of how to write an address?

外 can also be read ほか, and if this were a real address, I might be inclined to think that it was referring to 港区青山一丁目1番 and surrounding areas.

There is also the 番外 that Kazuhiro Kondo mentioned, but as you'll notice in the Wikipedia article, this type of situation would normally result in something like 港区青山一丁目1番地先, not to mention that 港区 is right in the middle of Tokyo and would most likely not have any areas like this.

Generally when I hear 青山一丁目 the first thing I think of is 青山一丁目駅, and if 1番 were to follow that I'd think Exit 1. 外 could mean outside of exit 1. So "outside of Exit 1 of the Aoyama-itchome station in Minato-ku" is not completely unthinkable, although this would be a very strange way to express that and is not likely.

As for writing addresses, this may help:

Lastly, 港区 prefers to call itself "Minato City" as you'll notice on the official website, but I'd still go with Minato-ku in an address.

Asker: Thank you. The actual address I'm struggling with is more like "南青山●丁目●●●番", but I had changed it slightly because I thought it wouldn't matter. True, I should have provided more info when I first asked the question. I'll be sure to do that next time.

Asker: Thank you. I'm tanslating a real estate related document that describes details about certain land such as its 取引価格 and 公示価格. There is also "青山●丁目●番他". Is this be "hoka"?

Asker: I meant, "Would this be 'hoka'?"

Asker: Thank you for your response. I never thought of the possiblity of a typo! Thank you for point that out. Now it all makes sense to me.

neutral  bistefano: I'd suggest "Plot #● area/parcel" for "●番他" instead of 1-bangai, see my post: what do you think of it?

Minato-ku, Aoyama, 1 Chome adjacent

Explanation:
Adjacent might work in a real estate context for a neighboring piece of land/area.

"Unlisted address" might work as well depending on the context as in "an unlisted address Minato-ku, Aoyama, 1 Chome"
