Japanese term or phrase: 白マド

A specification file for a project's logo shows examples of the logo displayed on different backgrounds. For solid color or photographic backgrounds, it calls for the logo to be presented "白マド". A diagram shows the logo placed on a solid white rounded rectangle, which is then placed over the photographic background.

The only descriptive text in the source is:
白マドは四角形、または角丸四角形。 ("Shiromado" may be a rectangle or rounded rectangle.)

I have further found:

I imagine there would be no problem translating as "in a white box" or "in a white rectangle", but I wonder if there might be a corresponding technical term in English?

Asker: Khwansuree-san, thanks for your suggestion! It is a good idea (and literal translation of マド) as well. But we were concerned that "window" would imply there is some sort of outline, compared to "frame". Also, the term "frame" seems greatly preferred over "window" in DTP software and manuals. Thank you though for your suggestion.

Asker: Bistefano-san, thanks for your suggestion! Sorry I was not quite clear about the final usage... "placing" the logo is not referring to "placing a printed logo in a physical picture frame", but rather "placing the logo as a graphic element within the layout of a printed page". However, we did select "white frame" as a valid translation in the context of DTP frames, for example in software such as Publisher. There is still some concern about confusion with HTML frames (or a physical picture frame!) but I think it sounds more professional than "white box".
